You guys may hate on my but why get stupid *** loud with out any SQ? Just because? I thought subs were for the low frequencies of music, just like mids are for mid frequency's and tweeters are for the high frequency's. You dont see many people saying man i want some really really loud mids. I am just going for SPL though. Please explain SPL.

for some of us its fun to have extremely loud cars and hit th high dBs and win trpphies, rack up points, and maybe have a shot at competeing in national events. funny thing is you can have afartbox for SPL, and take this same massive driver, build a realllly nice daily box. Even better is wiht the daily box and the right sub (my 4hp does grea twith this) is that with the volume mid way or less up. the bass is still sonicly accurate and blends with the music ever so nicely....medium volume, my 4hp sounds absolutely amazing on all kinds of music from frank sinatra, old metallica, to BB king. then if i feel like really punding i just turn the remote gain up and abort babies if i need to. it's all box dependant man, you can make an SPL woofer still sound more than excellent on music. sometimes you just gotta turn it down a little to reach that. SPL is just a fun hobby when you can take ur massive daily driver and try and win dB drag trophies....

THE TOP PLATE IS PART OF THE MOTOR! If the top plate is diffrent so is the entire motor! While they may be very similiar they are not completely the same, what you are saying is like saying the Mag and the Q are the same motor, they ARENT! They look the same, but they have diffrences. The Team RF motor is based off the 4hp, having the same magnet structure (3 10" slugs) I too have talked to Thilo numerous times about it, and he has told me straight up that it is inheirently diffrent, but based off the same platform as the 4hp. Also I could care less about what Lloyd and Chad have to say about it.

small differences would mean technically a "different motor" VERY similar but also different at the same time.

i understand that- i believe we both thought the same, but got in a childish argument of something phrased wrong.... i was always aware it was a different top plate, but was told by thilo, and other knowledgable ppl that its "basically a 4hp" and (right from thilo) if i sent in my team rf 12's i own for a recone it would be "VERY similiar to a 5200". If i phrased it wrong i apologize.....
