im still thinking of addind some extra bracing, but the port does add bracing to the sides, maybe the back needs some...hmm

Additional bracing wouldn't hurt anything, especially if you hit a particular side of the box and it sounds and feels rather hollow. The port does not support the sides sufficiently so I believe another brace from side wall to side wall would definitely be appropriate.
