I built a box for a Quatro, tell me what you think

It was a rushed build. I used 2" brads and liquid nails to hold it together, and my plunge router with Jasper circle jigs for the holes. 3.09 cubes before displacements, 13" round 4" flared port, and a Dayton Quatro 12" woofer. Here's some pictures, not the prettiest looking box ever, but it sounds amazing. I still need to go back and put a tuft of polyfill behind the woofer to help with back waves. I may carpet eventually too

simple ported box. it was a $$ saver build since I'm low on that sort of thing...

but I like it, especially for a temporary setup. I couldn't be happier with a sub I only paid $60 for brand new (it was on sale for a week and I'm only 45 mins from either PE store where I'm at in Ohio for college). I'm giving it 200w rms at 4 ohms, its rated for 250 rms.

Let me know what you think of it and give me suggestions on how to make it better next time around

are you talking about the ends or the couple of spots that it just doesn't fit together right? The ends are like that so it can be carpeted...but I dunno if I'll do that since this is only temporary. I'm getting a Q in the spring hopefully

i like it!

nice budget setup.

i always wanted a quatro to play with for home theater //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

got mine while it was on sale for $60 at PE. I drove over there and picked one up. So nice to be so close to both their retail stores. I buy scratch and dent stuff as I can afford it too

Same juddspaintball from s10 forum?

If so, I just searched out an old thread by you last week. It was about the speakers in your sig here. I was gonna give them a try.

Since you have been listening to it awhile now, what are your thoughts??

yes same juddspaintballs, I love my speakers. I wouldn't have survived the almost month without a sub if I didn't have good midbass.

Got enough room between the end of the port and the wall of the enclosure?
The port is 13" long and the box is 20" long...so yes

they are very nice. I could have inset them if I cared, but not really. They're on the back and the slope of the seat (once I finally put the box in position where it should be) will cover the terminals and the box will sit flush against the back of the seats then. I could have also put them on one of the inset ends of the box to solve the problem, but I centered them on the back of the box because eventually the amps are all gonna be on the passenger side in a nice little box with fans of their own instead of haphazardly screwed to the driver's side

Pictures of it all done and put in its place with the materials finally taken out of the Jimmy and the seats put back up.

And then a little side project I did today while I was building a box for a friend. This box is .27 cubes and I have a Dayton RS-180 7" 4 ohm woofer in it just for fun.
