Driving down to Castle fun park (mini amusement park with go carts and shit) last night. On the highway doing around 120km/h in overdrive (or so I thought) at around 2krpm.
Just as an FYI to help the story make sense... I've got 2nd, 3rd and overdrive to choose from since it's an auto.
Anyways, I'm in the slow lane behind a friend, and I go to pass him. I have to drop it into 3rd to pass people because I have no power in OD with 33's and stock gearing.
Well... My dumb *** unknowingly dropped it into 2nd by accident and like I always do, I put my foot into before it actually shifts so in about 2 seconds Im in 2nd gear doing 120km/h at about 5krpm. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I brought it back to 3rd as fast as I could but apparently not fast enough.
The I6's aren't high revving motors and apparently don't like going past red line.
I bent a damn valve, and have a nasty piston knock in the last cylinder. Sounds like a tractor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Instead of fixing it, since they're so common, I've decided to just find a good runner for $500 or so, and swap engines.
I ****.
