that is possible... does the protection light goes on at all? do you have a volt meter?

make sure your subs are still at the right impedane on each coil. I "blew" a 12L7 once and it caused the same thing. It still sounded normal but one of the coils was messed up and was causing my amp to stay on but not put out. it was like it waqs going into thermal protection
