for the majority of potheads...i agree. but there are some who (without proper psychological intervention) NEED marijuana. dont think im some pothead defending the shit. i dont smoke anymore, cause i dont like it anymore. i dont do any drugs. but im studying psychology, and there is a strong relationship between some psychological disorders and substance abuse.

For example: an old friends of mine is the biggest pothead i know. smoking 10 times a day is cutting back for him. but i know the kid needs it. he has serious mood problems and without his marijuana he is irritable, forgetful, and clumsy. and this isnt merely an observation from withdraw of the drug. hes like this for weeks/months after quitting. marijuana (along with many other substances) affect sensory receptors and chemicals in the brain (dopamine, seritonin, nueroepinephrin, etc). and these chemicals affect mood, judgement, coordination, and many other things. if the balance of chemicals isnt right in someones brain (i.e. ME, im Bipolar I), people may resort to other means that will balance out the chemicals...whether or not they are harming their own body. i choose prescription, not black market.

That is true, some people do need drugs like weed, and aderol, and similair drugs, that kids take. However, if you dont need that drug then dont ****ing take it. Just like many of the other posts say weed is a gateway drug. Sure alot of you on here are probably capable of controling when you do it and how much you do, and i know that it is impossible to o.d. on weed. But i am watching a friend as we speak who has been smoking for less then a year and he cant even get high anymore, so guess what he does on top of the weed: shrooms aderol zanex, and if he builds any courage im sure he will do ex as well so he can achieve that "bad ***" feeling he talks about. he does anything he is not afraid of, but his fear will decrease as his common sense does and i am worried about the outcome. its the people like him that set a reason for weed to not be legalized, just because all of you can control yourself doesent mean that everyone can.

I've seen a couple kids die from weed.. and you wana know how? Because they became so mother ****in dumb while they were high... and did the most stupidest shit ive ever seen.

My grandpa got cancer in his lungs (not from smoking) and every single day of his life (till he passed) he would have to go to a clinic and have needles SHOVED into his back through his ribs.. into his lungs to **** the blood out of them because he was basicly almost drownding in it....

NOW you think about that while your smokeing ANY kind of drug... or snffing ANYTHING... and you tell me.... does that sound fun to you to be doing later on in your life?

plain and simple weed will be legal when the government is so far in debt and the economy is so bad that the only way out is high taxes, slashing founding to fight the war on drugs, and of course legalizing weed and taxe the shit outta that, we are on are way their too. but it doesn't pay to argue on here because those who smoke won't stop and won't get it mad legal on this forum, and those who don't smoke well they have nothing to change.

point being those who smoke(me included) waist are time and lives smoking

Ok im done im passin out over every letter. Take it easy. Be safe. and the next time you have a problem, like a difficult personal decision, or a moral dilemma, just smoke a bowl and forget about it. Thats what I do, and im much better off because of it. So try smoking instead of one of the usual methods of dealing with it. You only live once. And I promise itll do the trick worked for me, so why the hell not?

I have to say right now

I've lost 2 close friends of mine, neither of them to drugs or as a consequence of drugs.

I have done massive amounts of drugs in my lifetime, and am still alive.

IMO only the good die young.

It's so sad if you think about it.

P.S. I've not touched any type of *illegal* drug in a long time. (alcohol = legal and delicious)

Umm ok....high taxes is the only way to get the economy back in order...hmm that worked well in the past. Also i waste no time trying to change those who smoke, i agree with vettelovr1124 less competition.

Economic reasons will never be the reason they legalize pot. Take prohibition for example. Remember how people still got alcohol? They were bootlegging, What makes you people think drug dealers are going to stop their "job" making tons of money just because the government is selling it. The dealers would end up charging less than the gov't therefore the government wouldn't really make shit. Not to mention the government probably makes more of fines and what not for people getting arrested for pot. I don't ever see pot being legalized anyway.
