You will. I'm probably the biggest Predator fan on these boards. I took huge offense to the first AVP, as did many die hard Predator and Alien fans. I Wrote a huge letter about it, what was wrong and what needed to be right. Got a bunch of signatures and sent it to Fox.
Now the direction of this one (I've been following it's development pretty closesly) pretty much mirrors the things I pointed out. Not that my letter had an impact or that I was the only one that pointed things out, but the writters and directors for this next AVP have done in essense what should have been done since the begining.
They followed the James Cameron/John McTeirnan blue print of the first few Alien and Predator films, I.E. a gritty sci-fi Horror film vs a clean sci-fi action film.
The new AVP will be very much like the original Alien and original Predator film. All those things that made those movies memorable and classics, and will have those things that idenfiy the characters:
The strung up and skinned bodies like trophies
The thermal vision going back to what it had been in the first two flick sbefore inexplicably being changed in AVP
The brutal ways in which the Predator and Alien kill vs having the victim off camera screaming while perhaps some blood get's spurt.
Here's a pretty stout trailer on youtube. It looks like the movie will be a classic. And the fact that it's named AVP-Requium and not AVP2, will allow collectors to essentially disregard the attrocity that Paul Anderson put out.
