things just didnt cohere at some points. but it was a cool movie.
thought there would be more zombie mashing, part where he gets pissed about his friend and starts crashing his car into em was fun. but i wouldnt have chased the dog into the building hah.
as far as not leaving and why he lived there... that was his house where him and his wife\daughter lived. for emotional reasons he stayed there, aside from it being ground zero.
and the whole him talking about the zombies having zero humanity left, after he 'kidnapped' the one zombie guys female and him popping out in the daytime didnt make sense. then seeing that same zombie guy set up the trap with the maniquan, and then come after him at the end, it was obvious that they were actually quite smart - but irrational and bereft of most pain.
but what gets me more, is he didnt set up alternate escape\safe points in his house. he welded shutters for all the windows and a crappy lock on the door, and fabbed a lab in the basement, but didnt include a bomb shelter type area, or underground tunnel\escape.
i dunno, the movie, most of the effects (zombies looked a bit off), and all that was really sweet, there are just a few things that seem like 1000+ days of planning and free time dont add up to. because i would have added a metal cage in my zombie protection area for extra piece of mind...
//edit.
and if that town up in vermont worked out well because of the 'cold weather in the mountains' what happened during the three winters in NYC (he did say 1000+ days, so at LEAST three winters) where there was most likely 1+ feet of snow? are the zombies immune to snow cold, but ice and wind hurt?
lol. i dunno.
