I have a US Acoustics 800D amplifier (http://crutchfield.com/S-2ZIovKC4w9F/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=235USX800D&s=0). I am confused about what some of the setting should be on. I got my amp installed at Circuit City and I just want to make sure that they have it on the right setting. THe amp has a subsonic filter. THis is turned on, should it be? And the subsonic filter goes from 20 hz - 50 hz, so what should it be on? And, there is a dial that has the word "lowpass" above it and it goes from 50 hz - 150 hz, so what should that be on? Also, would you mind explaining what exactly these controls do. Oh yeah, and if this helps you tell me what to put it on, i have two 12" Pioneer TS-W304C (http://crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-2ZIovKC4w9F/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=10&g=67700&I=130TSW304C). THey get 300 watts RMS each. Thank you in advance for your help.

ok the subsonic filter basically just filters out the insanely low frequencies which are hard for anyone to hear so that your amp isnt wasting power by amplifying signal that you cant hear

and the low pass cuts out all frequencies above a certain point so if your low pass is set on 80 Hz only sounds 80 Hz and below will be amplified and sent to your subs

there is also a dial for the subsonic filter. It goes from 20 hz to 50 hz. What should i have it set on? My subs are rated 18-2,000 hz. Also, What should the lowpass filter be set on? From your explanation, i now know what these things do, but i still dont know what to set the dials on.

setting these is all about personal preference

play with the amp until you find settings which sound agreeable to you

pop in a cd you know very well and put subsonic filter on its lowest setting and slowly turn it up until the low notes begin to cut out then turn it back down this should give you a good starting point

and with the crossover start with it set around 80 - 100 Hz and adjust from there depending on if you want your subs to handle just low freqs. or if you want them to have a little wider range.
