i am caraudio ignorant...plz help!!!!!

anyway...i have(don't laugh)2 10" road gear subs and a 150 W amp.....i can only turn up my cd player about 1/3 of it's capabilities till my subs start to sound like there gonna blow....would a bigger amp be even worse or would it help?????like i said...i'm completely caraudio ignorant.
