I always thought opossums were the antichrist

I've only ever seen videos of pissed off opossums (like on animal planet) freaking out on people, animal control officers and whatnot, even though they supposedly play dead (involuntarily) when they feel threatened...

Well we've had a opossum coming and eating the cat food on our back porch for the past month or so....and tonight the neighbor rang the doorbell saying it was on the fence again....so my dad went out with a bat, I stood back, I'm in shorts and needless to say I've seen their teeth and don't want any part of them lol.... it just sat there, he raised the bat and nailed it.... didn't even try to do a thing..

I guess they aren't as pissy as I always see on tv //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif... maybe the story would have been more interesting if I had gotten attacked.. lol. Just curious though if anyone has actually seen a opossum play dead in person, or been attacked by one? lol

I have seen them play dead a few times...One night one was teasing my dog..My dog was on a chain, and the possum stayed just right outside its reach..I ran it into a corner of the outside of my house and shot it with rat shot in a .22, right in the head. Blood and everything all over its face. He rolled over..

Came out the next morning and that SOB was gone!

I was out squirrel hunting and shot a squirrel out of a tall beech tree and went looking for it, I was moving pretty slow cuz I was still wanting to try to shoot a few more, and looked in front of me and there was a possum looking at the squirrel I shot, and then it seen me and stood up on its hind legs and turned around real slowly and waddled off rather quickly. my dogs attacked one once, I walked out to pick it up and throw it into the nieghbors yard. lol I thought it was dead, it wasn't. lol

The teeth are sharp, but I was quicker threw it back towards the dogs and it was like watching children open xmas presents!

goddd. I was just gonna shoot this sucker with a bb gun....figured after getting hit a few times it would get the hint and not come back...but nope, father has a different plan.

lol. I have seen my buddy's great danes tear into a opossum before... didnt remember that one. guess it didnt really have time to react. hmmm

and yeah, another reason I was nervous is because I see them dead all the time (or so i thought HMMMHMMMM...) and they have some big, nasty, gross teeth...and some pretty mean faces too.
