husqvarna vs stihl

Anybody here have any experience with both husqvarna and stilh chainsaws? Currently were using a commercial sized husky with a 24" bar, I know its an xp but im not sure on the size it might be a 576(before they were bought out) and a small stihl. Now were thinking about getting another commercial sized saw. What I want to know is, does anyone have experience with husqvarna's new commercial sized saws and some of stihl's equivalents?

Thanks

I don't have firsthand experience, but I asked my firefighter buddy which one would be better. He said Husqvarna all the way. Of course it could be like asking a cop buddy for handgun opinions with them saying Glock over a XDm. Just find one that you like and fits your budget. After some research I will get a Husqvarna eventually, but I am a little biased towards Swedes.

Gotcha, well what do you know. We got these from one of the other firefighters here that my dad works with. Are you getting a large saw or one for more average everyday type use?

Stihl chainsaws R@pe.

My brother used to do tree removal service. He absolutely hated the echo they had. He got a stihl and said he won't use anything else.

Our neighbor is like 70 and retired. All the dude does is cut wood for a hobby. He uses stihl.

Me and my dad used to cut wood for woodburning stoves for people for wintertime when I was younger. We always had Husky. Never really used Stihl. Don't know if it was because there was a local shop (there was a Husky dealer about 5 miles from us) or what, but we never really had too many issues besides the few that you will have with any chainsaw. I was younger, so I don't remember too much though.

If a husky chainsaw is anything like there tools...I'd be cautious.
There sockets/wrenches and ect. are made of cheap steel that always rusts.
well how old are the tools? cause I wonder if that is because of now that they have been bought out Ive heard their new stuff is not as good as the old husky equipment

I don't have any first-hand experience with Husq, but around the house we've always run Stihl. It's always been great equipment to work with, as long as you take care of it. Some others could probably chime in providing more input that I can, though. Depending on what type of tool you're looking at, I can definitely vouch for Stihl's chainsaws.

Idk. My buddy josh bought a starter husky tool kit for like $60 about 2 years ago.

Most of the sockets/wrenches and screw drivers all have rust on them.

My dads snap on tools are rust free going on 20 years.

My dads echo saw was garbage. my brothers stihl saw was the bomb.

He used to work for a landscape company too. All of their gigantic leaf blows, weed whackers, and saws were stihl.

Then he works for a smaller landscape company that was just a crew of 3 guys. They ran echo stuff and they always had problems getting them started and running.

Just do some research. When it comes to tools. I wouldn't cheap out.

right on, right on.

yeah we do some serious felling and cutting trees. So, were definitely going to be getting a quality saw

Well like you're seeing already, I'm sure you won't find too many bad things about either brand's saws, they are both nice. If you have a local shop for either, probably just go that route.

pretty much seems like I cant go wrong, which was kind of my feeling Im just wary of husqvarnas newer stuff, thats what I really want to see if anyone has experience with

Ive sold both for 5 years. I, along with most the guys I work with, choose stihl hands down. The only Husqvarna saws that are worth a **** are the XP saws which will beat stihls top saws. I would choose stihl for sure if I was a home owner. They back their products too. Husqvarna will back their saws as well its just more likely you'll need to use that backing.

Edit: ***The main reasons either of these saws came into our service department is because gasoline ***** soo much **** now a days. YOU HAVE TO THROW IT OUT AFTER 90 DAYS, Make sure you either run them dry with stabil or put MOTOMix in it and run it dry.***

O and because im stupid and didnt read the OP I would recommend the new XP Saws. You can't go wrong with Husqvarna's XP line. Id go stihl for the tree climbing saw tho, its very light.
great thanks man, and what do you mean the main reason people bring saws in because of the gas?
