Humming thru my Amp

I have a 2012 chevy cruze . I was attemping to install a small amp to the factory radio/Cd player It sounds fine till I turn the headlights on or hit the brake pedal then I have a fairly loud hummin noise. I ran the power down one side and the input and out put down the other, tried a different ground but nothing has worked. I tapped into the speaker wires that were going thru a large pin connector that has several other wires going thru it, Could the interference be coming from the point where I tapped into the speaker wires? Or do I have a ground problem?

If you tried different grounds,may have a ground loop.maybe try a line level convertor?

^^ get a line out converter (converts speaker output from the headunit to an rca signal to the amp.

I have a loc on the way. Will it be ok to still use the point where I tapped into the speakers for the output from the amp?

i would run the loc behind the radio. its a better location in case you decide to upgrade the radio later on.

I put a loc on my head unit and ran rca cables but no change.

How old are your rcas? might want to try tapping into the signal somewhere else?

^^ ummm when you unplug one rca does the humming noise stop? or does it still do it with both, 1 and none rca's (signal) going into the amp

One or both plugged in its still there.

get a headphone to rca cable and see if it does it on a different source like you phone. if still there try jumping the remote straight to the + of the amp and see what you get.
