I just built a new computer over Christmas and when I have it hooked up to my receiver I get a humming. I tried a bunch of different cables and some made it quieter and some made it louder. Tried a different receiver and it hums on that one as well.

What can I do to get rid of it?

are you using the front port or rear port, most front ports come with some interference, and some mobo just ****.

You can always buy a creative X-fi or audigy 2.

do both the computer and the receiver have a 3 prong plug? if not, one of them maybe causing some ground interference
The computer has a 3 prong plug. The receivers dont.

Im using the rear one. I tried the front one as well and it hums too. If I can't get rid of it I'll just pick up another sound card and hope that takes care of it.

The humming isnt that loud its just annoying as hell.

Sounds like you are having a ground loop.

Try grounding the shielding of the cables you are using directly to a ground. If the humm goes a way you need to look into getting an isolation transformer or something of the like.
