ok so i was sittin in my car bumpin with it off ( i know bad idea) and the amp shut off i didn tknow what it was till just know when i went out there and looked at my inline fuse on my power wire.it was blown. what would cause this? the amp is hifonics bxi 2006 and the wire is rockferd fosgate 8 hauge amp kit.

You may wanna run a bigger wire 4g or so and a ANL fuse and holder....

Dude... ppl use 8awg as speaker wire. 8awg is puny, especially for a brutus. Here's what you do: get a smaller amp. People like you really shouldnt be playing with half decent equipment without knowing wtf theyre doing.

Too small of wire trying to carry too much current, thus you blew your fuse.

Upgrade to at least 4awg power/ground wire, if not 1/0 awg.

I did. I put it plain and simple. No extra insults, no excessive flaming. No playing with his head. I said he needs a smaller amp if he's not knowledgable of what he's dealing with.

**** man i little harsh!!! but i guess thanks for the dicect info. i only hooke dit up to see if the amp worked and to see how it would sound. i plan on buyin some 0 gauge wire just have to wait til payday.

honestly i have no clue what the fuse is rated at i borrowed the wire off my friend but the wire was rockferd wire. he had it hooked up to his p3001.

Atleast he didn't cram a nickel or piece of coathanger wire in their like many of the installs I see/

Keep the RCA's you have and the remote line. Don't spend a whole bunch of money. Get like 20 feet of 1/O Weld Cable UltraFlex Orange, and it's less than the Wiring kit.

i would only be using the wire and the fuses not the rca's or any thing. i once heard a saying that wire is wire and want to know if stinger wire is really worth the extra 60$????
