HU suggestions

well i have a cheap JVC HU right now and im looking to upgrade. last system upgrade i bought all my new subs and everything then my old HU broke and i didnt have money for a nice one, so i ended up with a lower line JVC.

the main reason i dont like it is because it skips very easily. even when i make a sharp turn or hit any kind of bump it skips. any kind of bass makes it skip also, so of course when i had my 6 15" treos i couldnt even use it, so i had to buy an ipod.

any ideas on any good HUs that are roughly $500-$700 that wont skip? dont need anything too fancy, just something that has a pause button and wont skip.

i really like pioneer and alpine, but i dont want another JVC. im kinda neutral on clarion as ive never used one. if the deck had a flip out touchscreen, thats a plus, but not a necessity.

i know a guy who has this pioneer. hes got a very loud stereo... he can do a 154 on music and it doesnt skip.

If you want a screen than thats a nice deck for ya, if you want something with more options but no screen you can look at the 880PRS from Pioneer, and it will cost you a lot less. Alpine makes some nice gear, I have never been a fan but many people are and their reputation is something to consider as well. Dont be scared of Clarion as their gear is real good to.

those are nice, but for the little extra $ id rather get the one i posted. i know it doesnt skip and it has the touchscreen.

thanks for the suggestion though. anyone else got any other ideas?

for $500-$600 Eclipse and Pioneer Preimer will be ya friend... Eclipse 5000 can be had on woofersetc.com for $350 shipped...

i think either sounddomain or sonic electronix has it cheaper...like 250ish which is a DEAL for that radio.

If I were you I would wait another couple of months to see what Pioneer's new high end decks are gonna be like. If you go for the CD7100 I think you will just end up wasting money. 8V preouts are unnecessary and all you really need is 4V to 5V. Not to mention the unit looks like a bill-board and its expensive as hell considering you can get even better audio features out of the Premier p880prs for about half the price. The p880prs is also one of the sexiest looking decks out there. If you need a color screen the 780mp is a nice deck and the high end Kenwood decks are really nice as well.

this isnt going to be for a while, as im still saving money for my eletrical system (need like 5-7 more batts and another 300a amp most likely) and a ton of mids/highs.

when are these new pioneers supposed to be coming out?

It will never skip if its anything like the 780mp. Ive had a 780 for almost a year and its never skipped once.

ya, well i mainly want something that wont skip and has a pause button. what HUs have pause buttons?
