4G iPod Touch compatibility with iPod USB connection for head units?

As an owner of a Honda Civic with a Sony CDX-GT630UI head unit, I am currently using my 3G iPod nano (8 GB) and 4G iPod nano (16 GB) to play in the car using the USB cable connector on the front of the head unit.

Question: is the CDX-GT630UI compatible with the current 4G iPod touch and 6G iPod nano units that came out last month? Has anyone tried to connect the current iPod touch to the CDX-GT630UI and you can control the iPod touch using the head unit's iPod controls? I'm seriously considering getting a 4G iPod touch (64 GB) and I don't want to shell out US$399 and find out it's not compatible.
