HU RCA outputs, can they send a clipped signal?

I was helping my buddy install all of his gear yesterday, I was doing all of it, then one of his other buddies came over and was chattin and what not, and we were just about to test it out, I was using a DMM to set the gain on the sub amp, and did it probperly, but then this kid starts talking about how the rca outputs on the deck also ALWAYS send out a clipped signal @ 75% volume..... I siad they probably did not, as I thought clipped signals only came from amp, but I didnt know

So is it amps rcas alone that cause a clipped signal, or can a deck actually send a clipped signal?

Almost all decks will eventually clip the outputs.

Some will even do it at 75% but to say all do it is misinformed.

Just about anything with outputs has the ability to clip the signal.
