im trying 2 power some tweets off the hu and the right side works but the left is only getting like 3 volts even when i make my own ground could this be a bad connection to the hu or am i just ****ed

you kno how theres a positive and negative wire coming from the hu

the negative wire is the ground wire

so when i was testing for voltage i didnt get a reading when i used the negative as a ground wire so i instead touched it to something metal on the car

Isn't the ground supposed to be attached to metal something connected to the vehicle's chassis?

I'm still a bit lost as to what you're needing/asking/trying to tell us....

I think he might be referring to the negative wire of his speaker?

if thats the case, then it looks like you have some bad wiring.

The speakers shouldnt be connected to the chasis.

definitlty sounds like bad wiring. and if you did connect the speaker wire to ground, then it could now be a bad HU.

each speaker needs both wires from the HU both the Negative and the Positive. You most likely f-ed your HU, but it may have survived. The Negative wire is not the same as the Ground wire.

i fixed it the crossover i was using had a bad channel so i used a different channel
