HU installation in a 97 Civic....

I am having one hell of a time trying to get a cd player out of the dash of my dad's civic. Any help on how to get it out of the dash would be great from anyone with a civic or that has done one.

trying to get a new HU put in before dad get's back.

The trick with the Honda radios is that they're held in with two bolts at the back of the radio chassis, that need to be removed from underneath.

Remove the panel underneath the heater controls (the one with a power outlet built into it) then look up into the cavity for two screws holding in the back of the radio. Remove those screws and the radio slides right out.

If you have factory keyless entry or a factory alarm, they will not work after the radio is removed. Also, your dome light will not work with the door unless you jump two wires in the harness together (I think it's the green/red and green/black wires, but I'm not sure).
