HU HPF vs Amp HPF

So I recently installed my Rainbow SLC's and they sound great. I am still in the break in phase so im being gentle on the gains and tuning for now, but I was wondering about HPF and crossover points.

Basically my deck has a HPF I can set at 80, 100, and 120, unsure of the slope. MY amp has a variable crossover for the HPF at 24db slope.

Does using both the HPF from the HU then from the amp as well effect the crossover slopes? Should I stick with only the amp HPF?

This Ti 400.2 I have is really finiky on the crossover dial. It has such a wide range on it I have really no idea where it is set, since not even a quarter turn of it moves it from 40 - 180.

Suggestions?

only real advantage with a hu xover is that you can adjust it on the fly, and sometimes they have adjustable slopes, which can change the sound quite a bit

also, depending on the nature of the crossover in your amplifier, the electronic crossover in your headunit may be more accurate..... no way to tell if the crossover on your amplifier is a function of the preamp or the output channels
