How would you handle this?

I sold one of my friends from home, my CSX with all the softparts from FI to recone it. I was away at college and he was to anxious to wait for me to recone the sub. My friend brought it to a car audio shop that is local and asked the guy if he can do it. The guy was a competitor and said he hasn't done it before but knows he can for the price of $50. Well I came home finally today and my buddy called me up saying he wants me to go with to the shop. The guy appearantly had no clue what he was doing. The guy said the recone "was not a success". The guy is still demanding the $50 though otherwise my buddy can't get the sub back. I am going to the shop tommorow but I do not have any control in this situation other than being a middle man. What would you guys do about the situation.

Obviously the shop owner screwed it up and should pay to have the sub sent to FI for Scott to recone it but I guess the shop owner is a complete dick and wont except his mistakes. What would you guys do, and some serious answers would be much appreciated. Thanks

all bullshit aside id go in demandin my sub wouldnt even bother tryna get him to pay for shipping jus get the sub and recone back if not id start ****in shit up in his shop but thats me but u can always call the cops if u want i mean he was paid for a job he didnt complete so no reason to get paid for it obviously

id say go there and tell him your going to call the cops and take him to court he knew he couldnt do it yet he still did just to get the money and he knows that a judge would see that a cop would see hell anyone can see that so if he wont send it to FI and fix his mistake/greed then you can take him to court and the judge can make him.

offer him 20bux for his time and get ur sub back and take ur loss. if he stil insist on the 50bux tell him to **** dick and than call the cops. cuz if it says in recipet RECONE and he didnt complete the job the cop will be in ur favor cuz verbal dont mean shit its wat u got in writing

honestly if ur buddy has a reciept its a legal contract where the shop owner has to abide by it and do exactly what he payed for. or you sue for breach of contract

He hasnt paid anything yet for it so there is no written receipt at the moment. You pay on pickup there
