First thing, I know very little about car audio and need some help with installation in a Toyota Tundra!
The Kenwood 6140 HU has two sets of pre-outs. The rear pre-outs will run either a rear channel or a sub channel.
The amps are Eclipse XA1200 (mono) and a EA4200 (4 ch). The EA4200 has a preamp output.
The question is, would you:
Run the EA amp in 4 channel mode to power the front and rear speakers, use the preamp output on this amp for the sub amp, control the sub amp via a dash mounted gain knob, and have control of the front and rear channels via the HU?
or
Run the EA amp in 2 channel mode to power the front speakers, use the HU's preout rear channel for sub amp control, power the rear speakers via HU power, have full control of all channels via the HU, and not need to use a dash mounted gain knob for the sub amp?
or
Something else?
or
sell equipement before you set the vehicle on fire?
Thanks in advance!
Scott
