Sound deaden my back hatch on my 1999 Honda CR-V? Its a 2 part system the top lifts up and the bottom swings out tward the passenger side of the vheicle. And is there any way to get them to stop rattling at where they meet like where the window locks into the door, And where the bottom locks into the car?

And yes it is 1:45 in the morning and snowing and cold as hell

The bottom you deaden just like any other panel...you can't deaden the glass, unless you want to lose that view and end up with one big mirror in the back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

use sound deadening. put it on your car.
Seriously man, you should write a book. lol

To the OP, alot of what you ask if difficult to answer, we are not there. Some of sound deadening, most 'rattle control' is applied situation by situation.

Someone already mentioned adding sound deading to the panel(s), this would help add mass, lowering the resonance point (and volume) of the the panel(s). Someone also already mentioned placing soft material between the two offending pieces, at the rattle point.

Both of those are good suggestions. There are other options. Look at adjusting your latch to 'tighten' it up if its loose. Various things to try and quiet down noisey linkage. Etc etc... But, without being there and looking your car and your situation specifically, we can only make vague guesses. Look at what exactly is rattling, and use a little common sense to stop it (again like placing soft mat'l in stategic places etc).

Alright thanks i will try those Thanks guys

try a stickyback weather stripping from lowes or home depot. apply it to your regular stripping it may apply enough outward pressure on latches/linkages to stop the rattle.

if its a push button release on the window, you may have rattle from inside the button and from the latch on the door.

Ive used a lot of the weatherstripping from wlmart in the back hatch of my wagon (which the hatch section is semi similar to yours..

it pretty much fixed the problem... just apply it where its needed

also, this well help seal up the back of the car as well

If you go to walmart and get like 1/8th in think one sided 3m tape. Its like foam i put that on my escape when i had it cause my window would rattle so much just make sure you put some on the window part and on the hatch part
