How well would a ported "infinite baffle" setup work?

I suppose what I'm describing isn't an infinite baffle but I have no other way to describe it, so don't go apeshit on me.

I have a 93 sentra coupe, with 2 soundstream t4 12s and a Lanzar HTG2600d that puts out about 1100 watts rms.

I would like to use the trunk as an enclosure by using a 3/4" MDF baffle on which to put the subs. I'm gonna pull the rear speakers and seal up the deck and all of the nooks and crannys.

But here in lies the problem the T4s qts is 0.371 which is good for a ported box, a sub that works well with an infinite baffle setup usually has a 0.7 or up.

But if I get the approx cubic volume of the trunk and model a port for that can I install port on the baffle and will that change the dynamics of the enclosure?

So will what I described work like a large ported box and if so do you think t4 12s work in that enviroment?

I just want decent sound and output with out taking up too much space.
