How underrated are these fosgates?

i have an 800a4 i use for my highes....its the 95 model though....polished with the black end caps. (i believe it was tested at around 1100w) very nice...when RF was good. i used to run 2 punch 200ix's to 3 12's....was getting about 700w out of each of them. i sold them for $200/ea and my buddy got it off the guy i sold one to and he sold it for like $75...lol
either way...just a story to tell.

keep em, bridge em down, and keep em cool.

the bare metal and black was actually a LATER model, came out in 97 i think. those are the ones i had. the gold/silver painted are the early ones

if your a rf supporter thats cool....personally the amp i mentioned i have (which i guess was the 97 model) was the last line of good amps they made...imo. you can't really even compare the old ones to the new ones....the new ones can't be bridged to 0.5ohm or even 0.25ohm and bang all day and get so hot you can't touch them without frying like the old ones could.

Your amps are newer than 96. 1996 was the last year of the older model amplifiers like these...

nice dsm amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i think i like those soundstreams better though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i had both, the Ref. 300 was my first amp ever. I liked the power and precision of the SS amps but they were more delicate compared to the old RF's imo. i had a few of the reference series over the years, and after a long period of running them hard i would have output transistors blow, where the RF's could basically survive an atom bomb //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

BTW that is a sexy ass table of amps, i just wanna roll around on it!
