How to use manufacturers specs to my advantage?

recommendations are always a good thing, but in custom applications you have to fudge things to work your way.

As long as your have port length and sq in' correct you should be fine. If it's a slot port, make sure the slot isn't like 1/2", make sure its at least 1-1/4" wide or bigger.

If Single Port Requires (Kickers Single Vented Recommendations EXAMPLE)

I.E. 1.25"x15"x9" = 168.75 sqin or .0975 cuft

Then you can do a dual vent

I.E. (1.25"x7.5"x9")2 = 168.75 sqin or .0975 cuft

Your first number should always be 1.25" or greater and of course port length for tuning should be the same for all ports.

Hope this helps.

yea just double their recommedations, so if a box for one sub is 2 cubes with a "x" port then double the volume and add another "x" port
I don't think he was looking at doubling the recommendations. He is asking if it's acceptable to do a dual slot port, on a single sub with 1 slot port.

But of course you're right if he wants to do two of the same subs in one chamber, you would just double the volume of airspace, and double the voulme for port space, provided he still keeps the port characteristics the same. I.E. the port length, and having a port mouth no less than 1.25".

Hope this Helps.
