How to tune my amps?

I have a Hifonics Hifi1000.1d for my dd 1008 and an old *** kenwood amp for my components (massive vk6's). I know how to set the gain, i've read all the post and stickies, but I don't understand how to set the other knobs.

The Hifonics- Bass EQ, Sub Sonic, and Low Pass. I think I know what they mean but I don't know how to set them. The dd is in a .75cuft ported box tuned to 35hz, I don't know if that has any effect or not.

The Kenwood- LPF or Off for a filter, it's a slider that i can push to one side or the other, Operation, another slider, stereo or mono(L ch), and Input Sensitivity( goes from Min, 1.0, 0.5, 0.3, Max). It's an old 2 channel amp that I got for free. lol

If I didn't explain it right thenI took pictures of the amps so let me know.

-Thanks

^ Lol, just play with it until it sounds clear, if its loud that's cool but if it seriously sounds like a fart machine going full tilt all the time you may want to play with those settings some. As far as I know there's no code written in stone for those settings just make it sound good and you should get reasonable results so long as the install is decent.

For the Kenwood - the lpf is for subs. so leave that off. You want stereo. and the last knob is the gain.

for the hifonics - bass eq is bass boost. turn it off. Ssf blocks/reduces frequencies below tuning to protect your sub. Set it around 25-30hz. Low pass filter (lpf) limits midrange from being sent to your sub. You can play with this to see what it does. 80hz is a good place to start.
