how to tune an amp

You could do what 90% of the people here do and set it by ear.
Or you could read the Gain Setting Tutorial for the DMM method. Which is a sticky I might add.

The bass boost is easy, set it to 0. Subsonic is also pretty easy, just set it 5-10hz below the tune of your enclosure. If you hear the woofer making mechanical noise with low notes (below your box tune) turn it up more. LPF can be different depending on how high YOU like your sub to play, most people just set it between 70-80 hz. All this can be found numerous times via the search bar in greater detail.
Super nuuuub, but you really keep the bass boost at 0?

to find the voltage for the gain you multiply the rms watts by the ohms of your speakers then find the square root of that number right? if i'm wiring two 4 ohm subs to create two ohms would I multiply my amps watts by 2 or 4? That might have been a bit confusing, here is the specs of my setup.
600 watt rms x 1 amp @ 2ohms, two 4ohm speakers that will be wired at 2 ohms.
I'm trying to set my gain up so if someone could just clarify this for me i would really appreciate it, thanks.

No one is helping because all these questions have been asked and answered many times, and then asked again, and once again answered. I spoon fed you some simple answers, now its time to use the magical power of the search bar. Heck, the link I posted in my first post has the answer to what your asking. What more do you want?

So.. you guys are saying that if I were to use an o-scope properly, for this example we'll use a 300/4 JL Audio amplifier for mids & highs, and come to a conclusion that there is no clipping until say volume 35, set the gain just below clipping and set the highpass at 100hz for the sake of this arguement, regardless if I use Focal, Sony, or Infinity speakers, they'll be fine and won't blow at that max level of 35?
