how to test rca output

All sound quit.

I was listening to radio at low volume...all was ok , turned car off. Then when i started again no sound. I can still hear alt. whine through speakers. Amps have power, crossover has power. Bypassed crossover, tried two sets 0f rca's straight to amp, still no sound.

Unplugged hu for about a half hour, and now it's working fine thank you for all your help. Lol

Anybody have any idea what might have happened? Everything had power, head unit looked to be working properly just no sound.

Wasn't a protection circuit on the amp?

Mid n high amp was making alt wine through speakers, and when i was plugging in the rca's you could hear noise through speakers.

You prolly have a loose ground somewhere. Bad ground = alt whine.
