How to take off raamatt goo

I sound deadened my trunk lid but must have went a bit to low and now my trunk lid sticks shut and needs a little help opening. I need to remove the black sticky residue and wondering what will do the job?

it will kind of turn to liquid and smear when you hit it with the goo gone though... what i do is take 2 rags, one dry and one with some goo gone on it, wipe it with the dry one just after you hit it with the solvent, and repeat as needed.

If there is a lot of it, take another piece and dab at it with the adhesive - it will pull it off. If it's just residue, mineral spirits or goo-gone, as suggested.

Another thing to try is starting fluid. I've never used it for raamat, but for most sticker adhesive starting fluid disolves the stuff easily. And it has that get you buzzed smell...
