How to secure 45's

are you using a brad nailer or a roofing nail gun???? Brad nailer with 1 1/4" nails is what I use...

that question was for the OP. Obviously staples & brads will work and neither of them will spit the wood, so I seriously wonder if he's using like 8d's and a roof nailer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
