Its actually a "bolt" rather than a stud like most cars use. I guess im sure that doesnt really matter than much. But how could you beak it anyways?

Maybe you could remove the others and just move the wheel and try to break it off

VW's have lug bolts that hold their tires on, not the typical stud & lug nut that we're all used to.

That being said, he could have just drilled the top of the bolt off and called it a day..
