i was wondering how would i go about wiring my 1-10" dvc 1042D alpine type X...would it be best to run 500 watts rms amp to each coil? or to wire the sub into a 2 ohm load and run it to a 1000 watts rms mono amp? i'm pretty new to this..so let me know what u guys think or any suggestion would be fine..

Yep wire it to 2ohm and run to your amp. if you ran each vc separately, it can be done btw, but to set gain, lpf ect for each is a real pain to get them exactly equal and the likelihood is not high.

yes. that is why you have the jumpers. run @ 2 ohms @ 1kw+
