how to know if subwoofers are blown or damaged

hi can anyone help me out on how to know if subwoofers are blown or damaged caues my subs were sounding ok the frist month i dont know if its me but they sound realy bad now i have never mess with any of the gains i dont know if its that they could be clapping to much or what

pull the subs and check the coils with a dmm and see if they read what they are suppost to. also if you push down on the center of the sub do you feel any rubbing?

i guess am going to have to buy a dmm you said pull subs out and check them with the dmm should the subs be hook up to the amp when checking the subs with the dmm were do i hook up the dmm to the subs never done this befor sorry i ask

Edit : theses are my amp setup (gain #7 ) (infrasonic fil ter hz #7 ) ( freq. hz #7 ) ( punch eq #7 )

unhook the wires, put the positive lead in the positive terminal and negative lead in the negitive terminal. set ur dmm to ohms. are the subs dual voice coil? or single? what are the impedence of your subs?

where's the problem? dmm check and a visual coil check through any cooling holes and you should be able to verify a burned coil.
