How to get rid of your over-priced land phone service (with working DirecTV TiVo)

hate to tellyou this but your hd/dvr is now only 549 after 100.00 rebate.....but the directv plus dvr is the newest one released about 2 weeks ago. Its model number is Directv R15. Currently available at bestbuy. there is no hd version of it available yet. Should be march or april when it is available, it will also be mpeg4 compatible.
if u need any info or help w/ any of the directv stuff let me know....im in advanced tech support.
HD is what I need for that pup. Thanks for the info. I'll keep my eye on that, especially since it's supporting mpeg4!

True i forgot s in sDSL stands for symmetric //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Anyways i wish i had your job...how did you get it? I actually really enjoy this type of shyt, but dont know how to get started.
Well its not a glorified job by no means. It has good pay and good benefits but I still work for THE MAN that is always keeping me down. I work outside in all the elements so it is a blue coller job but at least I get to travel around all day and never see my boss. one of the suckyest(sp) parts of my job is going into peoples houses, it seems the majority of the houses I go to are nasty since nasty house have more trouble with the wireing. I dont mind running trouble in the cable though even if its a 15 mile span. snakes, dogs, wasps, and spiders **** to, along with chiggers and mysquitoes(sp)

No i dont want to actually visit the nasty houses...i just want to play in the CO with all the neato stuff inside. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Uh... I just skimmed this and wondered. Are there different types of each DSL service? AKA: 1-Link vs. "other" for aDSL. Maybe mine is the dedicated "1-Link"
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,14421470
we dont have any 1-link in my area probably do to the lesser fcc or occ. But I could see it if you were buying it from a company that rented the phone line from qwest aka as a clec which is a joke since the company that owns the lines gets stuck with all the cost of maintaining them. I assumed your dsl service was with qwest.

its not that neat. just alot of EQ and wires and cables along with a bunch of flashing lights and alarms, and of course the constant sound of all the EQ and cooling fans running that it will cuase hearing damage over a long term exposure. It is neat though being able to look at a frame for an entire city and not being overwhelemed with what it all means. The big *** batteries are cool to, I always wanted to hook ne up to a cars stereo. Not to mention always having the thought of just seeing what were to happen if you cut a big bundle of fibers or to poor water on some of the EQ but I keep from doing it:D

That sounds pretty neat to me! I wish i had more access to see how the entire systems work..like live and in person. Problem solving line problems and shit. The only part that doesnt sound fun is actually going to subscribers houses and running the lines!

Mine was over $60/mo, with all the extra services and long distance capability (not incuding actual long distance charges). Now, I'm only paying $24/month and have free USA and many world-wide countries long distance, with even more extra features than I had before. For me, VoIP was a no-brainer, but my biggest problem so far, had been getting my TiVo units to work, hence the write-up.
Agreed. Especially if you have a lot of family thats long distance, as I do.
