I am running front components speaker Alpine 6.5 type R, and panasonic headunit mxe-c5401, and clarion amp dpx1001.2, its a 2 channel amp, class T amp
The clarion amp does as follows
150x2--at 4ohms
300x2--at 2ohms
500x2--at 1ohms
600x1--at 4ohms bridge
1000wx1--at 2 ohms bridge
The problem is that when I used this for my alpine type R components at 150x2 and I get this hissing noise, put cd on pause and hissing is there, kind of loud.
Remove RCA and the hissing noise goes away, tried different rca, still same noise.
I then put in my other amps in and the noise is gone, even with old rca cables.
I put in a carver, proton, lanzar, infinity amp and no noise present. Then put the clarion amp back in and same noise, hissing noise.
Are these class T amps noisy for stereo mode or for high sound and only good for bass or to power only the subs.
I don't want this only for the sub amp and I like its flexibility in going either sub or front ends in the different combination of 4-1 ohm range. But looks like so far too much noise in this amp. By the way, I bought it refrubished by clarion factory.
But I don't think that being refurbished effects the noise problem.
Is this noise in stereo front speaker common to all class T amps.
Anybody have this amp or similar problem, can you help. Or my last resort is to take this amp back.
Other option is to buy DLS A3 amp which is similar but cost like $$$$. Clarion tech help sucks.
What should I do.
Update, I just hooked up the clarion amp as a sub amp mono mode to 2 10"jl audio wire output as 2 ohm load so supposedly giving it a 1000 watts. And no noise at all when doing CD pause test, but I figure its the low noise doesn't produce that hissing noise. And this amp sure doesn't pound like a heavy hitter.
If only I could get rid of this hissing noise when used a front amp for my components.
