How to figure out my ports?

I'm using this box plan for my Ranger:

It's 1.78ft^3 internal volume, before sub displacement. I'll be putting 2 AA Assassin 8"s in it. How big of pipe do I need for the ports (4" or 3"?) and how long would I need to make them? I'm putting a port on each side, so what do you guys think? Is there a formula I can use or is it a program? I'm thinking 38hz would be good for these, maybe 35?

Alright, for 35hz @ 1.78 it said 6.01" diameter, so two 3" should be enough. But when I do length, I put 2 ports, 1.78ft^3, 35hz and 3" diameter. It says port length needs to be 15.28". Is that between both ports, or does each one need to be 15" long?

Each one needs to be that length.

So do 2x 15.28" long, 3" diameter ports, one on each side.

Alright, thanks. Does 35hz sound good for 8" Assassins or should I go higher/lower?

id go higher...it all depends on how u want ur subs setup...id so 43hz or so...i have a couple 10s tuned to 40 and they sound pretty **** good and still get loud..

So you're saying stick with 35? I wouldn't go over 40, that'd be way to high. I was just thinking maybe 38 since AA recommends 40.

i would stick with 35, or maybe even 38. i doubt those 8's can pound out the lows anyway. do a search cuz i know there have been a ton of other threads about assassin boxes.
