How to connect Video Games/DVD Player in Car?

Hey, I was browsing for a GPS unit today and came across this unit: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2487005

It has an input it says for video game consoles/dvd players but I was wondering how would I hook up, say a Slim PS2 (for video games and DVDs), to a unit like that? How do the three red, white, and yellow inputs connect to that one input, and how do I get the PS2 to power up with no plug for the console in my car (obviously //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )?

I think it'd be cool to try and run a small set up like that for friends in my car on that 7 inch screen.

well for the power part youd have to get a dc power inverter, can hook em up to your ciggarette plug. i got one. its yours for 25 bucks

That's another huge problem though: my current set-up is that I only have one 12v outlet in my car, and that is being taken up by a splitter with two places for 12v adapters, which is used by my radar detector and my iPod charger (connected via aux input to my head unit).

Note that I also need a 12v port for the actual GPS Unit/Screen!

After researching a little more, here is what I've come up with.

For the inputs, I can do the following:

1) Assuming the single input on the screen is for video, I can connect the yellow wire there

2) For the audio inputs, I can buy an FM Modulator and have that broadcast the signal of the PS2 over my car stereo (I am worried about sound quality with this and the Screen already has the capability of broadcasting the audio on the screen towards the car's speakers, so to use that would be most effective if I could do it somehow)

For the power, the power inverter seems best but I am stumped on how to run all four of these devices I need to in my car at the same time?

The devices are:

-Radar Detector

-iPod Charger/AUX input connector to HU

-Screen Power

-PS2 Power

Any help would be appreciated.

Wouldnt that **** my battery to connect something else to the battery when I am currently running a Mono Amp to one sub and a two-channel amp to my front two speakers?

Anyway to connect it all without hardwiring to the battery? I tried installing my amps myself and I failed miserably (friend had to do it) connecting it all to the battery and such, so I dont feel comfortable trying to connect something else to the battery.

is ther another way? yea plug it in the cig lighter. but u said you had other stuff plugged there.

You can do a hardwire on the radar detector and the power invertor. If you got a power invertor that had 2 outlets that would take care of the ps2 and the screen, and then if you hardwired the radar detector that would leave you with the 12volt outlet to use for your ipod. This will give you a much cleaner look also and you wont be playing games and listening to the ipod at the same time anyways right?

Actually, I could be listening to the iPod on my sound system while my friend in the passenger seat plays a game without any sound.

How hard is hardwiring the power inverter? I dont want to hardwire the radar detector because I live in VA, so theyre illegal so if I were to get pulled over, I would need to be able to disconnect it and throw it in the back of my car (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif ). If I hardwired the power inveter, how would that solve the screen and ps2 solution since the screen runs off a 12v connection power source? I could deal with this solution if I can somehow connect the screen via a power outlet on the inverter because then I could keep the 12v splitter how it is now (with radar detector and iPod charger plugged in).

Also, could I connect the red and white audio cables to my head unit and somehow get that sound out of my HU? (Headunit is a JVC KD-G510) That would make the sound better since its not wireless.

u really are a n00b aent ya?

its really not that hard to wire it f you think about it. red wire goes to pos on bat and black goes to ground. and i believe those thngs require a Remote/acc wire to trun on as well, u can get that from behind the HU. as far as sound u needan aux on your HU to input sound

Yep, thats why I am asking you all for questions.

I found this (the one with four slots): http://www.buyradardetectors.com/Products/Accessories/Cigarette-Lighter-Accessories.aspx. Minus the obvious fact that it will look very cluttered (which I know you all hate), would that be a temporary solution to my problem that won't draw a ton from the battery until I think of something else?
