Ok 98 Dodge stratusfaction, took the panel off today to clean it and prep for sound deadening and did not like what i found. Have a look.

The big hole on the left is the problem, the one on the right is the speaker hole and nothing moves around it. The power window bars all move around the left hole though, so i can't just cover it.

Any suggestions are welcome

i just stuck the door panel back together after snapping pics, it almost looks like a lost cause. I think the speakers will end up being free air, not IB

You could do it.....it would just be a little more work than normal.

My idea would be to build some panels onto the back of your door panel that "connect" the door panel to the door metal, then deaden the ever living hell out of your door panel, so that when the door panel is on the door those added panels basically "seal" that space between the door metal and your door panel. Hard to explain in words //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sweet mother of God that is a hollow *** door!!!!! I dont know how much clearance you have between the door panel and door. But it almost looks like you could cover the whole thing (arms and motor and all)....maybe that is I can't really tell how far everything sticks out. But that would be easiest if you could..

does your speaker attach to the metal, or to the door panel itself? if it was me - i would find some mids that work well eaither sealed, or AP like audiolife said, and figure out some way to glass a rear-side for them. i wouldnt even bother trying to seal the door, but your best bet would be to use the actual door panel [deaden the crap out of it too] to seal the door off. i wouldnt recommend covering the arms or any of that stuff with any deadener.

Maybe you could build a small sealed enclosure for your door speakers. Then you wouldn't have to worry about sealing the door, just deadening it. Just a thought.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
