How much to feed this beast?

Ok its not a beast in todays standards but anyways I have a 15 inch rf power hx2 in 3.5 cub box tuned to 32ish hertz. I'm powering it now with a viper but i have a 2k at same ohm load amp coming.

My question is does anyone know what these subs will take daily? im looking at setting gain so the amp will put out around 1.2kw to the sub and then have plenty of headroom, no way ill be clippin. You think i could set it higher?

I think they really like to live at around 1.5kW or thereabouts?

Try it out and see.......smell or hear any stress than cut it back...no harm done

ya i love how i've had 4 people already tell me i will blow the sub with the amp, they dont believe me that i can set gains so it wont.

But anyways think maybe set to 1.4 and it would live daily? or just stick with 1.2ish for safety

I don't know that there would be that much (if any) audible difference between 1.2 and 1.4kW but I could be wrong.

I've never driven a sub with that much amp and only recently bought an amp that would even consider output levels like that.

As long as u dont full tilt it non-stop itll be fine at full 2000watts....just learn to control the volume knob more than gain honestly
