I just bought 18 inch re sx sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif and I little confused I been trying to figure out how much rms I can put too this sub I read on some sites that sub can handle 2000 rms and some say only 1000 watt rms . So can some one tell me how much rms can I put on this sub with out blowing it up?

thanks,

Blake

Daily...I'd say 1000-1200 should be plenty to get it loud...I had a 15" SX and ran a Sundown 1500D on it daily and it took it just fine...no smell, no sign of stress for 6 months.

I think 1000-1800 watts would be fine on it daily...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1500 rms is the limit I put on them for customers that know what they are doing, for a newer fanatic I do 1000 rms. I have a few guy that run them at comps and burp them with 2700 but it heats them up quickly.

Hm can I run like 1200 rms with out them heating them up? 1000rms is not allot lol . I hear mix reviews but are Hifonic amp any good more important will they last? I starting to run low cash lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif.

If you can hear the difference between 1200 and 1000W, you've got some incredible ears, FYI...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

They will take 1200 RMS fine assuming you give them clean power. I would take the AQ1200 over a hifonics 1606 any day of the week. It will be much more reliable, have a solid warranty, and put out rated power. Not to mention the bass knob lets you know when your clipping so you don't blow the sub for sure.
