how much power can i get?

does any one know how much power my electrical can handle before i have to upgrade my alternator? looking to get a bigger amp. my stock alt is 130 amp and i have a yellow top up front. i will be getting another battery though.

What is your goal. I say keep the alt, do the big 3 and add a battery in the back and that should do it. I always say the alt should be your last option.

I would say a 1250 would be good, 1500 max but i would not go there.

I ran 1100 on my 110amp alt for a while with very very minimal dimming.

I should be able to run 2000 wrms easy. Im running 1500 on an 100 amp alternator and a Kinetik HC800 in the back with no big 3 at all. I have no dimming, even when Im on max. BTW duralast red top up front

its very vehicle dependant. I am running 1800 off of a 90 amp alt, deka intimidator 9a31, and no big 3 (yet) and my voltage stays in the high 12s-13. voltage only drops to 12.5-.6 burping 2200watts with the car at idle

jump up from 1000 watts to maybe 1500 watts. just seeing if it would give my electrical any problems

so you are saying no difference in db going from 1k watts to1.5 k on 2 type r's?

In theory it should get you 1.5 more db by adding 50% more power.

1.5 db's will be almost not noticeable......... it take about 3 dbs for a human ear to notice a difference, everybody's hearing is different however.

double power = 3db (in your case 2000rms)

double cone area = 3db
