How much power are you putting to your Hertz HSK-165s?

I'm going to get my stuff installed in the next week or two and here is what I've bought...

Hertz HSK-165s

Alpine PDX-5

JL Audio Stealthbox

I plan on bridging the 4 channels to 2 to get the 150x2 to the Hertz and have no rearfill. The birth sheet from my amp says it puts out 124x4....so if I bridge that, I'll be putting about 250 watts to each side. Is 250 watts too much power. I think they're rated at 125 rms and 250 peak. It was a PITA to get these things and I don't want to shred them right away!

just be easy on the gains use a dmm and set them right.

Pretty sure they're rated at 150. But you'll be fine.

i had them running passive with 160x2, using the audison lrx 5.1k amp... sounded amazing!

I'm gonna bridge it and turn the gain waaaaaaay down. 124 to each side would probably be enough, but 248 turned down would probably be better.

i have a pair of hsk165s and im running them bridged on a CV amp. it initially does 60 x 4 but if i bridged it, it said it'll do 200. but im looking for new amps. i don't wanna bridge it.

what do you guys have your cross overs set to??

and if anyone has a hi-s amp they are selling, PM me :]

well my amp tends to over heat alot. and if i turn the gain down it sounds really weak, and if i turn it up, it'll either stop and go into protect mode or alot of high noise floor sound from the tweeters. :\ i need to find a more power ful amp.

Ahhhhh...I see.

I am run mine active with a 50 x 4 Aura amp.

50w to each tweeter and 50w to each mid, gains (only adjust sensitivity) all the way down and they get plenty of power.

All the Hertz stuff is pretty effecient and do not require a ton of power for best results.
