how much powe for two JL audio 12W6

I have an kicker sx300.2 amp. it would give me around 300 watts rms x 2 at 2ohm load. is that enough for two Jl audio 12w6v2 or would u recommend something else?

you're underpowering them I'm pretty sure

so then yes you would be underpowering them...you can run them there I think they'll be fine. but you won't be playing them to their full potential

JL 1000/1 or another amp that puts out 1000 watts.

they should get pretty loud for ya w/ that power.

is your enclosure gonna be ported??

I was running 3 10w6's @ around 200 watts a piece in a ported box, and it was insanely loud.......my rear view mirror shook off my windshield.

i have a 2005 acura tl so dont have that much space. Right now i have two 12" infinity reference sealed. Im looking to replace them since i have this new kicker sx amp wich is to good for the infinitys. I wanna keep at least the same sound quality but want it a little louder with that power. If that is possible anyhow. So im just asking for your oppinion. if you think jl audio would be a waste since they cost so much and i would not gain anything or what else do u recommend or maybe should i just keep it the way it is

but they are rated at 400 rms

and some people put as much as 400-600rms into one W6

so you will definatly be underpowering them... they'll probably get decently loud but the subs will have much more potential if you can get an amp to power them at, at least 500rms per sub

you will definatly hear a SQ difference over the infinities.. but alot of people hear would say you can get a better woofer for the price... unless you have hookups or find a cheap place to buy the W6s most people here will recommend something else

I just installed two 12w6v2 subs in my 2005 Altima. I am running a single 500/1 to each of my subs. They sound really good.

treo, fi, tc, and id are all nice brands.. look into each and see if you like any of them in your price range... dont get me wrong the w6's are great woofers, i myself have a w3 and the sq is very nice and it hits decently loud for one 12 being underpowered at the moment
