How much port area is needed for.......

12 12's in a 24 cubic ft box tuning to 31hz, been to the 12v and a few other sites and it keeps saying like a 12" round port 4.4 inches. But isnt that going to be choking the hell out of the box.

From my calculations with a woofer of around 15-20mm xmax I get 340 square inches.. But when your going that size 340-380 same thing!!
