right now my setup is going to be either a 10" or 12" type r (ported box)

im going to run it with 500rms @ 2ohms (profile ap1000m) so ill get the dvc 4 ohm version of the sub..

my question is, is there a real big difference between the two? what exact difference is it for those who has heard both? i just know that 10" is more punchy generally...

oh yea i mostly listen to rap dance and techno

my car is a hatchback if that makes a difference

save your money and get something better. i just got a diamond audio d6 12 d4, and it sounds so much better than type r's i had clean bass, hit hard and can go low. i only got one for now..

get something better? lol you talk as if this sub has an audiobahn logo on it...

10" is fine, everything is the same except cone size, they will both get equally as loud with decent power, go with whichever fits your application best
x2

Go with whatever your space/budget allows.

Make sure to port it.

10's can get loud too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I can't believe nobody has mentioned this...

The bigger subs don't sound junkier than smaller subs of the same series of sub. Bigger subs aren't any slower or mudier. This is a common car audio myth for present day technology. It was true back in the day, but now you don't need to worry about it at all...

If you have the space and extra money, get the biggest sub you can! I have 2 ported Elemental Designs 15AEs and they sound flawless on fast kickdrums and quick note changing transients from techno, rock ect...
