i'd say if done properly you should gain a minumum of 3dbzzzzz

It might be about the same.

You're talking about two subs vs one with the same amount of power

if you were to get anoter 1000 watt amp then yes it would be louder

R's have more cone area and would in my mind get louder with more power, but the BTL could take way more power than the AQ2200 can provide....

I know for a fact that 1 18" BTL on 3kw is louder than 2 12" Type R's on 1200w...but that's not saying much :/

So what is the biggest sub stage i could get with lets say 1500-2000 i already have wires 0 ga monster and i could build my box i it would be in a trunk so i'd like either 1 or 2 15's or 1 or 2 12's

I wouldn't run much more than 3KW to a btl continuous. Will take that all day long, but you'll want to use some discresion if you have more on tap. BTL is very loud provided you build a proper box

There's a lot of monster subs on here FS right now. 15" heavyweight, TRF, Aura, etc. etc.

More to the point is what are your goals here? How much space do you really have for a box? Can you build a GOOD box yourself? How much power do you really plan to run eventually?

I was thinking i would want to just have one HO alt so i don't think i'd wanna run much more then 3000. it would be in the trunk of my Lexus ES300 its not huge but i could fit 2 12s in a pretty big box. im not experienced in building a box but i have basic carp skills and there are those box plans in a sticky on here

You could do 2 15's but it would be your WHOLE trunk to do it properly. A single 18 may be doable if you built the box ported back or sides with the woofer firing up, though ideally I've had best luck in trunks with subs/port back and a bit of room between the box and the seat backs.

If you want to play really really low and have max SQ, I'd look into some of the TC sounds drivers on here, the Aura 18" is one of the most highly regarded SQ drivers out there and would shine at @ 2KW and a great buy at the 450 the guy is asking. If you want to tune higher and have some exciting numbers on a meter, look to a pair of DD 12's or one of the single monster 15's like the RD heavyweight, TRF, Atomic APX, or one of the custom SPL monsters. Most of the other stuff that's popular here is somewhere in between (sundown, DC, Fi, IA, SSA).

Plenty of good amps in the 2000-3000W range from 350-550$ price range. Most of which would do fine off a good HO alternator and a good bat under the hood.

first off niqqas, power and cone area can NOT be looked at the only issues. Its all about the box. If you build a good box for that btl, i bet my money it would kill those type arggs.
