How much for 1000/1

Hey i didn't post this in the classifieds cause i didn't think its appropriate but a couple questions.

First how much would you think a 1000/1 that powers on and plays music, but its distorted, is worth?

I know JL audio will repair it and give it a warranty for around 250$

being the nature of its condition though, I suspect an amateur Amp repairman might be able to fix it much cheaper, i've looked at it and there doesn't seem do be any visible damage on the boards. but idk.

What do you guys think? I would like to get 60$ out of it, cause I mean if i kept it i could basically spend $250 to get it fixed like new. And 250$ for a basically refurb 1000/1 seems cheap as hell to me.

no that one was in my truck this one hasn't come in contact with liquid that I know of, My dad bought the one in my truck originally, I got this one off Ebay. And only used it when I had it in a Taurus I had for a short while.

That one had a similar problem but it didn't really play any music it just produced the loudest "bangs" of songs

I would check with the guys who repair amps on here to see how much it would cost and what the problem could be. There's a guy named Mike (with a bunch of numbers in his username) and DB-R amongst a few others on here. They will be much cheaper than JL for repairs.

You should be able to get $60 for it the way it is...as long as its not beat up and in pretty good shape.

I may consider it but i was looking to try craigslist for a day or so first. I got it online but i got it online it has torn off serial, JL told me 250$ to repair it out of warranty and to re-serial it, But by ALL means call them and ask for an estimate yourself. Tell them it has no serial and thus obviously is out of warranty. They told me about $250 but like I said, don't take my word for it when you can check.

Well i'll do 60 plus shipping? that could end up being less than 75, i don't know shipping cost yet.

Actually shipping should be 16$ so i'll do 75 shipped thats fine.
