25k as an entry level IT support Tech for a business of about 75 people. If I stay here I am hoping for a small raise soon since I have been employed here for about a year.

Also, I serve at a restaurant on the side for extra cash which is what I did all through college.

But I may have a job opportunity to work for a Government Contractor at Scott AFB for around 50k

Which would help with my school loan payments ALOT

Cochese, you really don't know anything then, do you? How nice and so very noble of you to think that because I'm a police officer that I must "shake people down". It's people like you that cause police officers to have an "us versus them" attitude. NE Ohio police salaries were starting in the mid 30's...15 years ago. I guess it's easy to make blatantly ignorant and stereotypical comments when you're hiding behind a keyboard. Nobody thinks about the fact that we don't always get paid for what we do, a big part of our salary is for what we MIGHT HAVE TO DO. We can earn our whole year's pay in a single day (not a very good day for us!). I'm sure if you watch a little more television, you'll have a better picture of what a police officer's job/life is like.

Yeah I, never been shook-down by the CPD but if you ever pull me over can I just get a warning i make like 11k part-time and i'm a full time student so I can't afford tickets, or maybe you can be my uncle with one of these...

no that is just how much I pay myself. i make way more than that. my business covers all the stuff i do. I just claim that for taxes.

I know..you can advance so fast at rent a center as long as you show up on time and do your job well. A buddy of mine has been with the company 6 years starting where i'm at then got promoted to a store manager after 1 1/2 years and is now a district manager making 100 grand a year plus bonus

my cousin works as a manager there as well, been with the company for almost 10 years now. he doesn't make anywhere near 100k, lol. i think everyone would get a job there if it paid that much. better get a plan B.
